Both the boys and the girls cross country teams returned from Orrington on Tuesday, Oct. 17, as champions of the Penobscot Valley Middle League. The boys bested runners-up Holbrook Middle School, 41-69, as well as the other six teams in our conference. It is the first PVML title for the Orono boys. The girls beat a very talented Center Drive School team, 25-36, as well as the other six teams. It is the fourth PVML title for the Orono girls, all in the last four years.
The cross country team also earned the PVML Sportsmanship Award, as voted on by all the coaches in our league. The team members have made OMS and the Orono community very proud. Congratulations to our OMS runners and coaches on a very successful season.
